This guided drawing class uses the same structure as MONART I, but is geared for the older student. Starting with the MONART basics, students learn fundamental drawing concepts and painting techniques as they build confidence in their skills. As in all MONART classes there is no critique, commentary, or criticism. In this safe studio environment students can explore new ideas and emerging skills without the fear of criticism. Often by age 8 many children become discouraged or quit drawing in spite of their love of art because they lack the guidance which will allow them to build the artistic skills necessary to translate what they see onto paper as they desire. MONART II provides both the caring instruction and freedom necessary for students of this age to create their own vision. Emphasis is placed on exploring various media as students delve into more complex projects.
