MONART Alameda designs classes that meet in the mornings and early afternoon especially for homeschoolers. Every MONART class integrates academic material into the projects, but for homeschoolers we offer additional academic content to complement the theme of each drawing lesson.

Projects can be grouped into eight-week academic themes that span the curriculum. Broad subject areas including science, social studies, multicultural studies, environmental studies, and history are investigated in lessons that also teach fine arts skills by exploring art concepts such as shading, color, design, perspective, and composition.

Johny Wolf

Studies have documented that art can affect academic success. It has been shown that you learn information eight times faster and retain it eight times longer if you draw what you are learning. Drawing is a tool that reinforces sequencing and problem-solving skills, as well as helps to increase visual perception and concentration.
