Mark Hall
Owner and Director, MONART School of the Arts
I have come full circle in my involvement with the MONART School of the Arts. Twenty five years ago, I taught MONART for Mona Brookes in her first MONART School in Southern California, and then stayed on with MONART, developing enrollment and business software for MONART’s growing student population.
I left MONART, and worked for 20 years in the high technology field as a software developer, project manager and senior executive for various technology companies. My desire to improve my quality of life led me back to a career working with children. I now bring my deep understanding of technology’s capabilities and limitations and my creative flair to students at an East Bay independent school where I teach computer classes and offer students the opportunity to explore technology in interesting and interactive ways.
When I discovered that there were few active MONART Schools in the Bay Area, and none in the Oakland-Berkeley-Emeryville-Alameda area, I knew it was time for me to complete my change in career path and reestablish my connection with MONART. I always believed in MONART’s philosophy and saw the success of MONART as it grew from a one-classroom school to over 50 schools worldwide.
In 2005 I found this wonderful location in Alameda to open a MONART School of the Arts. My commitment for the arts is strong and my belief in MONART is unwavering. There is so much people can learn about themselves when they come to MONART. I am also the proud father of two boys, 7 and 4 years old, and I enjoy traveling the world, playing and listening to music, riding my bicycle, and sea kayaking on the bay. I look forward to welcoming you in our studio.
